Nelo Margoni, Jr. was born and raised in Bell, California along with his three sisters, mother and father. He graduated from Cantwell High School located in Montebello, California and went onto East Los Angeles College with a major in business management before enlisting as a medic for the US Army.
Nelo’s father, Nelo Margoni, Sr. got his license to do business in electrical contracting in 1950 for the state of California. At the time, his service area was just Maywood and surrounding cities. Being excellent in his trade, and having a keen sense of humor and witty personality, he became a force to be reckoned with in the electrical contracting circuit. For many years, even inspectors from different cities would call Nelo to confirm certain electrical codes to be sure they were interpreting them correctly, saving the city from many projects deemed as a costly liability. For every ten minutes of electrical work, Nelo Sr. was known to give his customers an hour of jokes and conversation that built friendships that lead into the next generation.
As a young boy, Nelo Margoni, Jr. worked alongside his father learning the trade and then went onto obtain his own electrical licensing. Apart from working with his father, he maintained the electrical systems for Warner Bros Hollywood Studio and also worked on several high profile commercials which included Budweiser, A&W, Oral-B, CBS, Arrow 93.1, Time Warner and many other commercial outfits. His reputation was and still is built on providing cost-effective solutions for his clients (without compromising quality) at a fair price. Since 2004, after his father’s passing, Nelo Jr. has taken over Margoni Electrical full time doing residential, commercial and industrial wiring projects all over Los Angeles, Orange and Inland Empire counties.
